Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by enduring patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience that deviate significantly from cultural expectations. These patterns, which are inflexible and pervasive across various situations, typically lead to distress for the individual or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): BPD is characterized by unstable relationships, self-image, and emotions. Individuals may engage in impulsive behaviors, have intense and unstable moods, and experience a fear of abandonment.
How We Can Help:
It’s important to note that treatment often involves psychotherapy, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for borderline personality disorder. However, we can target symptoms that people with this disorder experience through medication management.
